Integration von Entwicklung und Produktion durch objektorientierte Technologie

Outline: Im europäischen Forschungsprojekt AIT haben siebzehn Firmen aus dem Bereich der Luftfahrt- und Automobil- und Zuliefererindustrie zsammengearbeitet, um ihre Anforderungen an innovative Informationstechnologie (IT) festzulegen. Ein Hauptergebnis der Arbeiten war die Spezifikation eines IT Referenzmodelles, das die Architektur zukünftiger Systeme für den Entwicklungs- und Produktionsbereich der beteiligten Firmen beschreibt. Eine der wichtigsten Grundlagen dieser Spezifikation ist neben dem internationalen Standard STEP für die Description von Produktdaten die CORBA Spezifikation der OMG.

Erfolge mit Frameworks-

Outline: Die Techniken objekt-orientierte Frameworks werden innerhalb der ABB eingesetzt um Software zu entwickeln, die höhere Wiederverwendungsraten aufweist und flexiblere Lösungen ermöglicht. In diesem Vortrag werden erst die Grundkonzepte des Frameworkansatzes angesprochen und auf das Verhältnis zum Komponenten orientierten Ansatz eingegangen. Dann wird anhand von Erfahrungen einiger Framework basierten Projekte auf typische Fragestellungen der industriellen Anwendung eingegangen. z.B.: Wie wählt man ein erstes Projekt aus? Was sind personelle und technologische Anforderungen? Wie werden Framework dokumentiert, so dass sie auch wiederverwendbar sind? Wie lässt sich der Erfolg des Frameworkansatzes messen?

CORBA als Grundlage für eine verteilte Service-Architektur

Outline: Neue Informationssysteme werden von der Schweizerischen Bankgesellschaft (SBG) künftig als lose gekoppelte, verteilte Anwendungen auf einer offenen, heterogenen Systemplattform realisiert. Als Grundlage für diese verteilte Service-Architektur hat sich die SBG für das CORBA-Modell von OMG entschieden. Der Vortrag zeigt, welche Anforderungen die SBG an eine verteilte Architektur stellt und geht auf die Erfahrungen ein, die die SBG in der Umsetzung einer Architektur, die sich am CORBA-Modell orientiert, gesammelt wurden.

Objects in Insurance: Erfahrungen mit den neuen Paradigmen in einem Großprojekt

Outline: In einem der größten europäischen Versicherungsunternehmen wird derzeit das gesamte operative Geschäft völlig neu gestaltet. Dabei sollen die existierenden DV Anwendungen größtenteils abgelöst werden. Im Wege dieser Neuorientierung werden zukunftsorientiert neue Technologien wie Client/Server, IAA, Workflow-Management und Objektorientierung eingesetzt. Der Vortrag zeigt die Details dieses Projekts, seine Lösungsansätze sowie die resultierenden Managementaspekte.

Using a ODBMS for Large Volume of Data: The HEP Project at CERN

Outline: CERN is currently building a new facility - the Large Hadron Collider or LHC, which is currently expected to take data in 2005. One of the many challenges that will have to be faced on this new machine is the sheer volume of data that will be generated - more than 1 PB (10**15 bytes) of new data are anticipated for each of the 3 main experiments per year. The talk will cover an R&D project that is attempting to solve the problems of data storage and access on what is, at least for the High Energy Physics community, and unprecedented scale.

This transformation will focus attention on *higher level* standards that allow an immense new population of authors to create software quickly and easily with little technical knowledge. Java, software components, and scripting languages are just the beginning of this new era.

Outline: Die objektorientierte Anwendungsentwicklung muß auf die Datenbestände anderer Softwaregenerationen zugreifen, ohne daß in alte Anwendungen eingegriffen werden darf. Objektorientierte Datenbanken alleine reichen hier nicht aus. Der Vortrag stellt einen Integrationsrahmen für die Lösung dieser Probleme vor und gibt einen Überblick über verfügbare Produktkategorien, mit denen dieser Rahmen zu einer konkreten Lösung gefüllt werden kann.

Management von CORBA-basierten Systemen: Der MAScOTTE-Ansatz

Outline: Das europäische Verbundsprojekt MAsCOTTE hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, OMG-konforme Lösungen für das Management von CORBA-basierten Systemen zu spezifizieren und zu implementieren. Die entwickelten Lösungen sollen zudem integriert werden mit im Markt eingeführten Netz- und Systemmanagementsystemen (OSI CMIP- bzw. Internet SNMP-basiert). Dieser Vortrag stellt den Architekturansatz des EU-Projekts MAScOTTE vor.

OMG CORBA 2.0 Interoperability

Outline: CORBA 2.0 specifies how ORBs from different vendors should interoperate, either by the construction of bridges, or by implementing common protocols. The common fall-back protocol that all CORBA 2.0 ORBs must implement for compliance is GIOP, the General Inter-Operability Protocol, which is layered over any reliable byte-stream transport protocol. The mapping of GIOP onto the most common bytestream transport (TCP/IP) is termed IIOP, the Internet Inter-Operabililty Protocol. This talk explains the general background to CORBA interoperability, and then provides a detailed, developer's-eye view of GIOP and IIOP.
